What does RD mean?
When you see “RD” or registered dietitian, you can rest assured that the information you are getting is based on science and not opinion. The RD credential is a legally protected title that can only be used by practitioners who are authorized by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association. While some RDs may call themselves "nutritionists," not all nutritionists are registered dietitians. In some states, virtually anyone can call him or herself a "nutritionist" regardless of education or training.

What does CSSD mean?

The CSSD was developed by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), the credentialing agency for the American Dietetic Association, the nation’s largest organization of food and nutrition professionals. CDR is an organizational member of the National Organization for Competency Assurance.
